Pavlov game modes FAQ

Guides · Based on Pavlov Wiki — Gamemodes

Pavlov dedicated servers can rotate through official and community game modes. Pick modes your community actually plays — empty public servers are common, so match your Discord or clan before opening one.

Competitive & round-based

Search and Destroy (SND)+

Two-minute rounds, one life each. Terrorists arm a bomb with a 4-digit code and plant at a bombsite; Counter-Terrorists defuse with 8 digits (wire cutters help). Win by plant explosion, defuse, or eliminating the enemy team. First to 10 round wins wins the match (max 19 rounds). Proning is disabled in SND for balance. Economy mirrors CS-style buy rounds — players start with $900 and earn win/loss/plant bonuses.

Push+

Similar to SND but both teams respawn. Planters have limited tickets (default 50) spent when players pick loadouts; defenders diffuse bombs. Planting team gets infinite tickets while a bomb is live. Bombs arm by spinning the pin and planting on an outline; diffuse by spinning the rod outward. Default explode timer: one minute.

King of the Hill (KOTH)+

WW2 teams fight to hold an objective ring for points. Objectives may move on some maps. Loot crates inside the zone supply weapons and throwables.

Free-for-all & arcade

Gun Game+

FFA progression through 32 weapon levels from M249 to knife. Each kill upgrades your weapon; final knife kill wins. No buy wheel. WW2 Gun Game uses the same rules with historical weapons.

Deathmatch+

Team-less FFA. Buy any modern weapon from the wheel; most kills when the timer ends wins.

One in the Chamber+

Everyone spawns with a golden Deagle and one bullet — one-shot kills. Miss and use your knife to earn another bullet. Die and you're back to one round in the chamber.

Team Deathmatch (TDM)+

NATO vs Russians with modern weapons. Short respawns, $4900 start, kills worth $300. Team kills and suicide cost −4 points; kills +2, assists +1.

WW2 Team Deathmatch (TankTDM)+

Germans vs Americans with WW2 weapons. Tanks available; loot crates drop on the map. Same scoring rules as modern TDM.

Social deduction & horror

TTT (Trouble in Terrorist Town)+

Roles are randomized each round: Innocents (Detective, Sheriff, Tank, Mercenary, Glitch…), Traitors (Assassin, Hypnotist…), Solos (Jester, Psychopath, Lone Wolf), and Uniques (Soulmate, Zombie). Innocents outnumber traitors and must eliminate antagonists. Low karma from wrongful kills can get you kicked. Custom servers can enable extra roles in config. Very popular on Pavlov Shack community servers.

The Hidden (Hide)+

1–4 nearly invisible monsters vs soldiers. Monsters have blades, wall vision, ledge grab, and corpse healing. Soldiers capture objectives to increase monster visibility, use tripwires, adrenaline, bandages, and anti-monster flashbangs. Monster count scales with player count (1 monster under 10 players, up to 4 at 22+).

Infection+

Like The Hidden but monsters are visible. One random Hidden at round start; each soldier killed joins the Hidden team with unlimited lives. Soldiers must survive until time runs out.

Prop Hunt+

Props disguise as map objects; hunters must find and shoot them before time expires. Prop health scales with size; hunters lose 5 HP for shooting decoy props.

Co-op & wave-based

Zombies+

Survive endless zombie waves — count increases each round until capping at 999 on round 21+. No buying; respawn with random weapons. Headshots insta-kill zombies. Between waves you may get attachments, painkillers, or syringes from loot crates. Shove zombies with fists or guns to create space.

Co-op Killhouse+

Team-based killhouse added in Update 33 — multiplayer training circuit unlike the solo tutorial killhouse.

General FAQ

Which game mode should I run on my Pavlov server?+

Match your community. SND and TDM suit competitive groups; TTT and Zombies are Shack favorites; Gun Game works for casual nights. Rotate modes via RCON AddMapRotation MapID GameMode or your host's panel — see our RCON guide.

Can I mix custom UGC maps with these modes?+

Yes. Community maps from mod.io use IDs like UGC2804322. Default maps use short names like sand and snd. See the maps guide.

Do Shack and PC support the same modes?+

Most modes work on both, but Shack is capped at 24 players while PC supports up to 50. Some night maps and modes are PC/PSVR2 only.
